With SVCD2DVD it is possible to have menus with custom backgrouds, custom buttons and custom audio.
In a SVCD2DVD menu, a button is the way to play a TitleSet. There is one button per TitleSet.
Lets look at creating some basic menus. One with image buttons, the other with text buttons.
In this example we are going to create a still menu for a DVD. The DVD will contain two movies and we would like a menu with two buttons to play each movie. DVD covers will be used as the menu buttons.
As we want two buttons we need two TitleSets. It is assumed that we have already set up the DVD structure and that we have the two TitleSets, each containing the assets for the movie in question.
1. To go to the menu designer click on the Menu Panel: This gives you the initial menu designer:
2. Choose a custom background:
Click on the Background icon: browse to the image you want and click "open":
3. Change the default text buttons to image buttons.
Right click on the a menu button and choose "Change to Image Button":
This will pop up a dialog box. Browse to the image you want to use for the button:
Resize the image and position it roughly where you want it:
repeat for the other button.
4. Button alignment.
Select both buttons. Do this by dragging a rectangle around them both:
Both buttons are now selected:
Lets align them by their middles (horizontally):
We can add more space between the buttons:
Now to align the two buttons centrally on the menu:
These two buttons align selected buttons cetrally, relative to the whole menu.
Thats is it. We now have the following menu:
We could change the highlight colours but in this case the default situation is:
Selected: Red outline Not Selected: White outline.
You can preview your menu to make sure you are happy with the results:
